In the scope of this project, an Ubuntu Server was provisioned and installed onto a desktop system. This was assigned a static IP address, which was subsequently configured and reserved within the OPNSense firewall specifically for this server.
Following the successful installation, the Ubuntu Server was updated and upgraded to ensure optimal performance and security.

Subsequently, a secure remote connection was established using the SSH protocol over port 22. This was facilitated using the PuTTY software, enabling direct communication with the Ubuntu Server.
The openssh-server command was executed to set up the SSH service. Additionally, command-line interface access was also configured, allowing for server interaction via CMD by entering the username followe
Subsequently, I established a remote desktop connection to enable remote display access to the server. This was accomplished through the utilization of the 'xrdp' command.
Last step was to to create an encrypting connection using SSL-Cert.
The activation of the Web Console was a critical step, facilitating comprehensive server management capabilities. This included software updates, terminal access, storage monitoring, and more. The Web Console was brought online through the use of Cockpit, with access granted via a web interface utilizing the server's IP address and corresponding port.
Additionally, I implemented a file-sharing solution by installing and configuring the SMB (Server Message Block) protocol, also known as Samba. This involved modifying the 'smb.conf' configuration file, designating a specific name for the shared drive, and establishing a directory path for file storage.
